About Our Issue

Urban Housing. Highlighting Policy Changes In India

The President of India, in his address to the Joint Session of Parliament in 2014 promised that, "...every family will have a pucca house with water connection, toilet facilities, 24x7 electricity supply and access."

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna or the Housing for All Scheme was set up to meet this goal by 2022. With only 5 years remaining, for our maiden issue we critically evaluate the progress and the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna - Urban, and the likelihood of us meeting our 2022 target.
